EXPEDIENT FUSE
An expedient fuse can easily be made.
Start with one full box of book matches and cut all the match heads off.
Stir the match heads into a cup of boiling water. Once any remaining paper has separated from the match heads, pour through a screen (to capture the paper).
Evaporate water until the mixture is a thick paste. Swirl a 10-inch length of cotton twine in the thick paste until coated. Wipe off any excess and place on a cookie sheet.
Bake wet fuses in a 200°F oven for 20 minutes.
Use a razor blade to remove fuses from cookie sheet when done.
